CIKOPIK is a language camp project carried out during the fall of 2023. The Mapachee family welcomed around twenty people to their ancestral territory for a few days, to give themselves space to speak their language, Anicinabemowin. In this video, two Anicinabek, Alex Ruperthouse and Alex Mapachee, share a captivating anecdote about an unusual fishing adventure involving a square trap.
