These video recordings present the official apologies delivered by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the leaders of the opposition parties in the House of Commons on June 11, 2008. The apologies were received by Phil Fontaine (Assembly of First Nations), Patrick Brazeau (Congress of Aboriginal Peoples), Mary Simon (Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami), Clem Chartier (Métis National Council), and Beverley Jacobs (Native Women's Association of Canada).

The clips were shown as part of the exhibition 'Years of Loss – The Residential School System in Canada', created by the Canadian Museum of History and the Legacy of Hope Foundation in 2014.
