Canoe in course of construction, with Algonquin Chief David Makokus to L with sheets of birchbark (wikwas). Pail of hot water in foreground, used to soften up the bark while working it. The canoe was probably made at David Makokus landing on Barrière Lake (Lac-Barrière), Quebec. See also N15020 - N15028.
